Chair Umpires at ITF Pro Circuit events

posted Dec 23, 2015, 6:03 PM by Allan Thompson

The ITF has made a change to the requirements for Chair Umpires at ITF Pro Circuit events that could affect you.  Effective January 1, 2016, only non-badged Chair Umpires that have registered with the ITF Officiating Portal (and from March/April 2016 paid their membership fee) will be eligible to work as Chair Umpires at ITF Pro Circuit Tournaments.

Please note that if you are not registered with the ITF Officiating Portal or if you are registered but have not paid your membership fee, we will not be able to assign you to as a Chair Umpire at any USTA Pro Circuit Event. I have also been informed that the ITF will eventually be expanding this requirement to Juniors, Seniors, DC, etc.

If you are a Non-Badged Chair Umpire or aspiring Chair Umpire, I urge you to be proactive and emailproofficials@usta.com for the invitation to register with the ITF Officiating Portal.  After you have registered and paid the fee, you will be eligible to work at USTA Pro Circuit Events in 2016.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to another successful year of Tennis Officiating
