Officials shirts at non-USTA Events

The Shirt logo issues are a challenge for officials.
Simply, the policy is that the USTA shirt and gear (including USTA Sectional Shirts and gear) are not to be worn at non-USTA events; like ITA, High School, ATP and WTA events.

The ITA (Inter-collegiate Tennis Association) has created a standard ITA officials shirt and headwear.

If no shirt is offered to the officials by non-USTA events, officials should decide upon a solid color polo to be used at these non-USTA events. This can be determined with additional input from the college/school or any other organizers of non-USTA events.
IMG, for instance, have generously provided blue shirts with a white sides to officials for some of their events.
Covering the USTA logo on the current USTA national shirt does not suffice since the USTA shirt/brand is recognizable with or without a logo.

The USTA hope to soon offer a non-logo, generic Tennis Officials Shirt (and accessories) that can be used by officials for use at non-USTA events at a reduced price as a USTA member benefit. The USTA have also promised to look into the possibility of producing a shirt that can accommodate a handle patch to be attached to the sleeve for use at non-USTA events.
