1. Prior to the initiation of a formal appeal, a certified Official seeking reconsideration of an evaluation grade (either chair or line) must first contact the National Trainer-Evaluator who wrote the evaluation to discuss the evaluation and determine whether the Official and the National Trainer-Evaluator can resolve the issue. If this fails to reach an agreement, the Official may take the following additional steps.

The Official must ensure that the applicable National Trainer-Evaluator and the National Chairperson of Officials are copied on the Appeal Email. Within ten (10) days of receiving the Appeal Email, the Chairperson of the National Trainer-Evaluators will attempt to resolve the appeal by communicating with the Official and the applicable National Trainer-Evaluator. If an agreement is not reached, the Chairperson of the National Trainer-Evaluators will send an (email within 2 days) to the National Chairperson of Officials indicating that the appeal will need to be decided formally by a subcommittee of the National Officials Committee.

3. Within two (2) weeks of receiving notification from the Chairperson of the National Trainer-Evaluators, the National Chairperson of Officials will convene a subcommittee to review the Appeal. The subcommittee will consist of the National Chairperson of Officials and two other members of the National Officials Committee selected by the National Chairperson (“Hearing Subcommittee”) Within five (5) business days of selection, this Hearing Subcommittee shall respond to the Official in writing (the "Appeal Review Decision"). A copy of the Appeal Review Email must also be sent to the applicable National Trainer-Evaluator and the Chairperson of the National Trainer-Evaluators. The Appeal Review Decision shall state whether the evaluation at issue was adjusted and the reason(s) for the adjustment or lack thereof. The Appeal Review Decision shall also state why the corrective action proposed in the Appeal Decision was adopted or denied.
