Intercollegiate Officials

College matches are played using the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rules . The ITA and USTA are now separate and the qualification process is different. The organisations are different and use slightly different rules and officials must wear different uniforms when working.

There is an opportunity to become an ITA Official beginning September 19; 2016 and anyone who is interested should have a USTA NUCULA account with a valid USTA certification to be eligible to participate in this certification period. If you would like more detailed information on the process, please email officials@itatennis.com. Training is undertaken online on the website www.zebraweb.org. Details of login etc are available from the ITA. There is a users guide in the files available below.

Annual Dues: 2017-18 rate is $48

Intercollegiate Official: Shall have officiated for a total of five days, which may be any combination as a Chair Umpire, Roving Umpire, or Referee for intercollegiate dual matches or tournaments. (An official who has successfully completed an ITA Training School and passed all appropriate tests may be certified as a Provisional Intercollegiate Official.)

Intercollegiate Officials must wear not wear the USTA Uniform to officiate. The ITA have developed their own uniform available here.

We are fortunate to have Colleges and Universities in our area that require ITA Officials.
